Not today Satan! Not today

“For though we walk in the flesh, we are not waging war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but have divine power to destroy strongholds. We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ, being ready to punish every disobedience, when your obedience is complete.” ‭‭
2 Corinthians‬ ‭10:3-6‬ ‭ESV‬‬

I read this Sunday afternoon and highlighted it in my YouVersion app. I normally read from my "paper" Bible because I love underlining verses and circling key words.

Some people are clueless about the spiritual warfare that is involved in a battle like the cause we fight (run/walk) for. It's real! It's so real!! Satan is fighting SOOO incredibly hard to tear each and every one of us down, cause division amongst the team, keep us defeated in our lives and careers and even benched with injuries. Do not give in to the enemy dear friends.

Recognize that every struggle, sickness, family fight, relational battle, financial woe, and so much more is ALL satan trying to bring us down and sink our ship! Guard your heart, your mind, your feet, your ears, your eyes, your tongue and your soul to stand strong against every dart the enemy is heaving at you and me! Stand strong in the Grace of Christ... Rebuke him from any place that surrounds this team and boldly say, "Not today Satan! Not today!!"

Be encouraged, for you are NOT alone in this fight!!

Week 2 Wrap Up

Training this week was a challenge with the Arizona heat picking up as well as some "dual" focus and wrapping up another journey in my first love of sports, Scuba.

Week 2 wrap up: 7.5 miles clocked in my sneakers!
I never tire of running this canal.

The journey is just beginning in my training and I'm committed to #endit and do what I can to #stopthetraffic!! Will you join me in this fight and become a #freedomfighter?!

I am looking for 97 more people to support me with a one time, tax deductible donation of $14.40 representing the number of minutes in a day that a victim of trafficking is enslaved; and it's the same number of minutes you and I are free to do something about it. What will you do with your 1440 minutes?

Things are heating up in the Desert

Nope, not even exaggerating how HOT it was when I pulled into #grouprun tonight!!!

Super tough 3 miles for me but I got it done... And surprisingly my stats look great compared to how I felt lol My body is exhausted, my brain fried and to be honest, my ankle is aching tonight which has me slightly concerned. Here's to my oh so comfortable bed and sheets!!! #goodnightmoon #runnerchic #2017forthewin #loveruns #butididntdie

Base Training Begins

Training for my half marathon officially began this past week...
...but this is not about running.

This is about the fight against Human Trafficking!

Will you support me?! I will do the hard work and train to run 13.1 miles in October😊        I am still looking for 98 more people to commit $14.40 in my fight. 1440 represents the number of minutes in a day that you and I are free while someone enslaved does not have a choice. Will you join me? Click here

Love Runs 2017 Season Kick-Off

Tonight was the season kick off for the Love Runs 2017 season. There were so many emotions going into this evening.

Excitement.
Anticipation.
Fear.
Doubt.
But most fall, gratitude.

It was overwhelming to walk into that building. It was surprising. Each side of the hallway was filled with a #seaofblue holding signs and ringing cowbells. So much support and thankfulness from the Captains and leadership of this incredible organization.

We passed through one room that was set up for a meeting and there were tables with shirts and jerseys to be purchased. As we entered the main room for the evening, it reminded me of a large gymnasium where twenty-five or so round banquet tables were set up. Each seat at the tables had a Love Runs card and pamphlet. More cowbells were placed on the tables as well.

So many things took place in a short time. It was special!

Introductions. Encouragement. Instruction. Stories of praise and personal successes.

It was amazing.

                                                                                                 Breathtaking.

After an hour, they split the group into two categories for a special workshop related to running. Soon after, a bit of socializing took place and it was so incredible. To meet people I've chatted with on Facebook and email was so encouraging. I had a couple people approach me who I had never met, never heard of, and they introduced themselves and thanked me for being part of Love Runs this season. My heart was so incredibly full πŸ’™πŸ’š

Absolutely the most gorgeous sunset I've ever seen in Michigan.

Maybe I just saw the beauty from a different angle.

Often times I see the promises and comfort of my great big God in the scenery He surrounds me with.

He just knows that nature is my thing, I guess😊😊

No words could describe the overwhelming amounts of emotion overflowing in my heart tonight as I walked out of the #loveruns #seasonkickoff. I've waited for this day, this weekend, for months. Some people will never understand what it means to be a small piece of this journey. I'm thankful for thatπŸ’™πŸ’š

In some ways, this sunset felt like a great big hug from God himself to me tonight.
